There's a phrase that's been tumbling through my head for the past six or seven month that has really been effecting the way I write. "They're just words." I feel like it keeps me honest. It makes me realize that there is nothing I can say or write that will really mean anything to anybody because it will always just be what it means to them. I guess that to me, that means that everything I ever do will ever mean anything. Don't take that negatively. It's actually liberating to think of. What I write will simply be what I write and how it's read will just mean how it's read.
